It was dark as the little puppy made her way through the trees. Her nose was too the ground as usual, sniffing out interesting things. She sat back on her rump, utterly bored. She gave a small cry of frustration. She couldn't get out! She wanted to leave, but she couldn't. She couldn't leave.
She started to run. She scrambled over logs and dropped to the floor clumsily. The small puppy ran on, her tounge lolling to the side. She stopped and gave a small whimper. The dark closed in around her, and Sakura huddled up into a tighter ball. She stuck out her lip, pouting to herself. She was alone. She didn't mind that, but it was dark and scary.
Thunder clouds rolled over head and a flash of lightning lit up the forest. She gave a startled yelp and hid inside a bush. She looked out and whimpered sadly. She wanted to leave. She gave a small growl and climbed out of her hiding place. She puffed out her chest. She wasn't scared. She looked around and sniffed the air. For a moment, she thought she smelt something else. A way to get out.
She can towards it as fast as her little legs could carry her. She ran towards her freedom, ran towards where she thought she could get away. She didn't stop, she stumbled a few times, but never stopped.
"My, my! But what is a little pup like you doing... all alone?" A poisonous voice made itself be heard from above the noises of the storm. It was Rit's voice, La Vache Qua Rit's, and she seemed dangerously interested in the little pup before her. The black afghan placed herself between the exit and the pup. the dense hair standing in her back and making him resemble some sort of rabid wolf.
"Freeze, pup" she commanded; surprisingly, her poisonous voice sounded calm and soft this time. Why? Rain that is. Rain made her calm, and it decreased her desire to go and kill somthing. Rain was one of the few things that could still get out La Vache's 'good' side these days.
With these words said, the afghan awaited for the pup's next move. Should she do the wrong thing or say the wrong word, and La Vache would rip her to pieces no questions asked. She was in a good mood today afterall.
Sakura ignored the cold voice behind her, infact, it made her run faster out of fear. She froze at the sight of the mangled fea before her, and obeyed the order, too scared to move. Sakura didn't know what to do. She wanted to leave, but she couldn't. Whenever she found a way, another dog would find her, and take her back. Sakura edged away a few paces, her chocolate eyes never leaving the older fea.
Her voice was soft, calm, but Sakura still did not trust her. Sakura shivered with the cold as the gentle drizzle settled on her thick coat. A small frown edged to her brow, and a small snarl came from her lips. She wouldn't cry like a small pup. She stood her ground, the hair along her back rising, trying to make herself look scary.
"I am alone 'cause no one chooses to be with me. I don't need nobody!" She said in the fiercest voice she could muster. She snarled again and backed away a few paces, keeping her eyes on the other dog. "And who're you, miss, to tell me to freeze, when I was doin' no harm?" She said rather boldly, but then regreted her saying this, for this dog might have a short temper.
La Vache's good eye narrowed. Hmm... this pup wasn't like the others-- any other would have freaked out of their hide. By a second, the enviroment tensed, as everyone awaited for the afghan's reaction to the pup's bravery; but it was certain that no one could be expecting what next came. Laughter. Qua Rit let loose a twisted laughter before she turned to the pup again. "So, little puppy is not afraid of aunt Rit?" She teased, a smirk forming, and showing her yellowed fangs.
Sakura made the right move.
Like some sort of prey bird, the afghan continued to stare at Sakura. Her gaze was like that of a vulture, alone enough to make the bravest of dogs uneasy. "I, pup, am La Vache Qua Rit. One of the most feared Death Stalkers that there are." The afgahan introduced herself; her good eye still locked on Sakura. La Vache disliked pups to the bones, but this one seemed different than the rest. Perhaps she could have some fun with her before she dismembered her? Sure, sure, some fun. Rit was going to try to scare Sakura out of her hide, and if she gave one hint of fear-- one, just one, the subtlest of hints-- and she dismembered her.
If she passed though, Rit would have to let her go. Stupid rain. Ah, but the chances of she actually passing the test were slim... Vache liked that, she liked dismembering people. Without another thought, the afghan made her way towards the pup, an angered and demented expression appearing in her face."Doing nothing, huh? You think I'm stupid, kid? Huh? Stupid? I can see it in your eyes... you were searching for a way out of here.. yes... a way out of here..." Rit said with a demented voice, making many questions at once with the propose of scaring her.
But if that didn't scare her, then her undead-like appearance would. As the afghan witch was now at inches of distance to the pup. La Vache's hot breath came out in the shape of small white clouds of vapor because of the cold; and from there, the pup would have a good sight of her white eye.
They did not get much more dead than this.
Sakura frowned as she laughed. She stood still and watched the mangled dog. She wasn't scared of her appearance. It did unnerve her, but she wasn't scared. Sakura didn't care about appearance, she thought it was what was inside that counted. But she did get a bit freaked out as Rit came towards her. Sakura backed away as she came closer, trying to put as much distance away as possible. For a pup, Sakura was not stupid, even if she was head strong. She growled again, warning her. Most feared? Sakura was in so much trouble. She new she wouldn't be able to out run Rit, but maybe she could hide somewhere.
Sakura gulped, keeping her fear at bay. She wasn't scared. She said it over and over in her mind. She was just a little... unnerved, that was all. Sakura shook her head fiercely. "Nome. I don't think your stupid... uhh..." She didn't know what to say. She was glued to the spot, not knowing what to do with this crazy dog before her. "I want to get out! Why can't I go?" She said in a half question, half whine to herself. She didn't like this dog, it was her personality that freaked her out the most, but she tried her best not to show it.
She growled at Rit. A small rumble in her tiny chest released into the air. There was a deep rumble and a flash of lightning. Sakura flinched and made herself look tiny, her tail between her legs, but her teeth still bared and her hackles still raised at Rit. She wasn't scared, she wasn't scared. "I'm not scared of you..." She said quietly, not really wanting Rit to hear it, in case she did something horribe to Sakura. She saw the white eye and shivered, not looking at it. She stared at her mangled form. It did look like she was the living dead. Sakura stood up boldly, her tail raised in the air as she tried to stare down this bag of bones.
The pup was trying to appear brave. Good, so now scaring her head out was going to be more fun. La Vache snickered coldly as she began cricling the defenseless pup. "You can't go because those are the rules. Disobey them, and thee punishment will be even worse than what you can imagine." Rit hissed, not stopping to circle Sakura. Her long hairs were entirely wet with the rain, and now the afghan showed some resemblance with a walking mop-- a walking, zombie, mop.
La Vache Qua Rit continued circling the pup with a painfully slow and grim pace; it was like that of the zombies from the movies-- Doom aproaches in a torturing slow pace. She smiled in delight when she saw the pup cower in fear because of the lighting, and she felt a force tugging, struggling, telling her to rip her to pieces. But she contained herself. "Now tell me, pup, what is thy name?" The old afghan asked; but it was more of like a command than a question. Without waiting for an aswer, the afghan chuckled evilly and muttered loud enough so the young pup could hear her: "Yes.. tell me, pup, so I can later identify your little pile of modly bones..." Her voice as demented as before.
Sakura just wanted to run, just wanted to hide. She tried to back away, but Rit continued to circle her. Sakura watched the walking zombie. Her painfully slow movement scared her more than if she had used quick movements. She was prolonging it, she wanted it to last. "Well, maybe I don't want to play by the rules." she said innocently. She didn't like the idea of being punished, but pushed the thoughts from her mind.
Sakura watched with fearful eyes as the walking bag of bones continued to circle her. Sakura growled and hissed, trying to keep the monster at bay. Sakura was a bright pup, and knew Rit was playing with her. Sakura didn't like that. Sakura growled and her hackled raised in the rain. She did not flinch as the thunder crashed and lightening flashed over head. Sakura didn't like Rit. She was trying to make her scared, but Sakura was better than that.
"My name is Sakura. You should do well to remember it, for I will be the one to send you to your grave!" Brave words for a small pup. Her eyes took on a steely loom as she glared at the zombie-dog. She never once loosened her growl, and her tail no longer slunk between her legs. "Your bones'll be the ones to rot an' go mouldy, you old witch!" She snarled at her and started to circle herself, like she had seen so many other dogs do. Her mind was racing and she circled with the mangey old pregnant dog. Sakura was scared, yes, but she refused to let this pregnant dog see it.
The wraith-dog continued circling, she was getting the desired effect-- fear. Oh, how she loved fear. Rit loved to see others groveling and crawling under her feet. She loved to see them suffer. The witch was just testing her, pushing her, untill she fell from the cliff on her own, untill she heard a satisfying 'crack'. As she walked, the afghan's face remained cold and inexpressive, like that of a dead thing. It was impossible to tell what was going on inside this wraith's skull.
The cold expression did not last long, though, as a smile appeared when Rit noticed the pup's terrified expression. This was exactly what she wanted. Her smirk just widened when she heard the pup's empty threats. "Aw... are you afraid of the little witch, dear? Look at me in the eyes dear, and tell me... am I scary?" La Vache taunted, circling slower than ever now, letting the air get impossible to breathe with the tension.
"Ah, are you going to send my back to my tomb, dear? But I was having so much fun out here..." Rit continued teasing, her faked sweet voice slowly growing in demency and bloodlust. "Say that again when I finish desmembering you!" The afghan yelled as she lounged at the pup, but her wide opnened jaws closed before they caused any harm to Sakura-- just a couple of inches of the pretty girl's face.
Sakura was right, this witch was merely playing with her.
Sakura growled at her and swiped a paw at her like a cat would do to a toy. She didn't like being played with. Sakura huffed and smirked. She was getting used to Rit's games. Sakura laughed at Rit with coldness wrapped around her voice. She looked Rit in the eyes, even her blind one. Sakura smiled. "No. You do not scare me. Not anymore. Why should I be scared of a walking corpse? Hag!" She spat.
Sakura's breathing was strained with the tension. Her breathing was quicker, deeper. Though she was no longer as scared as she was before, the tension was torture for her. She growled and her eyes filled with hate, not fear. "You feed off dogs' fear. That's just pathetic! You scare other dogs' into submission, because that's the only thing you know how to do." She growled at her. She smirked again. "I'll haunt your dreams and say it every time you go to sleep. I'll never let you forget untill you die of the madness!"
Sakura was not prepared for the fake attack. She was glued to the spot, but her eyes never once showed a flicker of fear, only hate. She closed her eyes, waiting for the final blow, but it never came. She nopened her eyes, only to see Rit's dripping fangs in front of her nose. Sakura's breathing was quicker as she stared at the fellowed fangs. She had the sudden urge to swipe a paw at the nose, but didn't. She stayed her ground and tried to stare down the old witch.
A demented laughter escaped the witch's mouth; the hot breath coming out in the shape of little clouds of vapour, and creating some resemblance between La Vache and a fire-breathing dragon. Vache then sat, a twisted smile in her face, still recovering from the laugh; but soon the smile dissapeared, and the forest fell silent except for the rain and ocasional lightning. In these silent moments, La Vache observed Sakura up and down. "You're brave, pup. Stupid as H*ll, but brave..." Rit said, and then everything fell silent again.
"Fine." She spat while she rose on her feet and gave a couple of steps away from Sakura, but she then stopped. "Thee bravery has just earned the protection of La Vache Qua Rit. Should they mess with you and they'll be messing with me." Rit said without looking at the pup. The afghan lifted a paw as if she was going to leave but she didn't "But let me down..." She said in a voice that started soft but then grew more and more dangerous with each word.
Before the pup could even react, the wraith-dog turned to face her; her horrid face at just inches from the little pup's. "...and I'll make you suffer like I haven't made anyone in a while." Rit warned, in a tone as dangerous as a handful of poisoned daggers. Oh yeah, she was serious now, and oh yeah Sakura was going to be in trouble-- she had just fallen to the bottom of the darkness, head-first.
Not even the darkest of witches lives forever, Rit knew this, and she knew the smartest move was to find someone that would do her a replacement when she was gone. She was going to test her from now on, a false step, and it would be game over for Sakura.
Sakura studied Rit with a smirk on her maw and her head male partsed to the side, looking up at Rit through one chocolate eyes. She smiled proudly as Rit commented her on her bravery. Sakura was proud of who she was and how brave she was for a pup, and it was kind of nice to hear it from an older dog who was much stronger and braver than herself. She wrinkled her nose at the stupid part, but kept her mouth shut.
Sakura was reallu puzzled by the next part, though. She frowned in confusion, but she listened to Rit with quivering ears. Sakura listened without emotion, seemingly thinking over what Rit had said. She flinched back a bit when Rit's voice became harsher and she came closer. Sakura nodded and sat down on her rump. She smirked and looked Rit straight in the eyes. "And if they shall mess with you, then they'll be messin' with me."
Sakura had just dug a hole, and it was so deep, she knew she wouldn't be able to climb out without falling back and breaking her neck. Sakura knew that Rit would train her to be as harsh as Rit was now, and that Rit would probably give her lots of pain to train her. But Sakura could do nothing, except accept this silent offer. Sakura wouldn't let Rit down.
Sakura was scared because she half hoped that Rit wouldn't give her pain to teach her. But Sakura knew that if she did something wrong, she would be punished untill she got it right. She also knew, if she did something severly wrong, she would lose her life. She stared up at Rit. Rit was now her 'mistress', and Sakura her 'student'. Sakura closed her and took in a deep breath. Her eyes came up glazed over and she showed no emotion on her face. "What would you teach me first, Mistress Rit?"
"That's the way..." Rit hissed in a somewhat softer tone. Sure, Rit's voice could never fake a sweet tone, no matter how hard she tried. That stage had passed ages ago... now she was a beast, and everyone knew it. Qua Rit was famous for that. The afghan liked the idea of having some sort of apprentice, someone to whom she could teach all her dirty tricks, and that would worship her as a goddess. But as the saying went, 'Let them hate us as long as they fear us.' That was Rit's official motto, and Sakura was not going to be of any use if Rit did not have complete control over her... for one day she was going to grow up, and even though La Vache was still at the summit of her power, when one goes all the way up, there is only one way left to go, and that is down. Rit needed some sort of key, some sort of control over her. She needed what the phrase 'ALEXIS HEEL' was to the Death Stalker Selena, she needed a psychological power over the child.
But what could that be? At the moment, she did not know, but she was sure of one thing, in time she would find out. By the moment, La Vache just stood there, giving her back to Sakura."The first thing will be fixing that little name of yours..." The afghan said, not looking at the pup. " 'Sakura' sounds like the name of a pretty little girl." She mocked. "You can forget of that image now. You are going to be a tough girl now-- You are going to be strong." The wraith-dog hissed. She then turned to face the pup, and a twisted smile appeared in her face. "Lagoat is going to be your name now." Rit said while looking at the pup in the eyes. With these words said, the black afghan turned to leave the area, her pace somewhat slow, as she was expecting the pup to follow. "Come, Lagoat, thee acceptation ceremony is about to start." Rit said, while disappearing in the shadows of the night. By 'acceptation ceremony' the afghan meant some sort of superstitious ceremony of black magic-- one of those that she was often found doing.
((sorry for taking so long. I'll start the new thread when I get the chance.))
